Samantha Barks ("Les Miserables"), Charlie Cox ("Boardwalk Empire"), Art Parkinson ("Game of Thrones") and Icelandic star Thor Kristjansson ("Black's Game") have joined the cast of the new spin on "Dracula" at Universal Pictures.

The story is a part historical, part mythological spin on Bram Stoker's creation. In this version Dracula (Luke Evans) is a Transylvanian prince who risks eternal damnation in order to save his wife and son from a Turkish horde.

Barks plays the Eastern European folk figure Baba Yaga, a beautiful young woman turned into a savage witch.

Kristjansson will play Bright Eyes, a slav turned a vicious Ottoman Army assassin. Parkinson will play Dracula’s son Ingeras.

Dominic Cooper and Sarah Gadon also star in the Gary Shore-directed feature which has just begun production in Belfast.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the script while Michael De Luca produces.
