Have Your Say: "The Wolverine"

The latest entry in the X-Men franchise hits cinemas worldwide this weekend and has received a fairly positive reaction from film critics.

On Rotten Tomatoes it has scored 67% & 6.3/10, while at Metacritic it's at 61/100.

That's far higher marks than the franchise's worst effort - 2009's first solo Wolverine outing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (RT: 38% & 5.1, MC: 40).

It has also got a good lead on the Brett Ratner-helmed 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand" (RT: 57% & 5.9, MC: 58).

Even so, the film is still fourth highest in the series, slightly behind the original 2000 release that began it all - "X-Men" (RT: 82% & 7.0/10, MC: 64).

It is also FAR behind the evenly tied critical champions of the series - 2003's "X2: X-Men United" (RT: 87% & 7.4, MC: 68) and 2011's "X-Men: First Class" (RT: 88% & 7.4, MC: 65)

Scoring $4 million in midnight previews, box-office prognosticators are suggesting "The Wolverine" is headed for a $65 million opening this weekend.

Now is the time to have your say, what did you think? Did James Mangold right the wrongs of 'Origins'? How does this compare to the previous X-Men films for you? Please leave your comments below.
