Jason Momoa ("Game of Thrones," "Stargate Atlantis") is set to star in the Sundance Channel's six-episode drama "The Red Road".
The story revolves around a sheriff struggling to keep his family together while policing two clashing communities: the folks in the small town in which he grew up and those in the neighboring Ramapo Mountains.
Momoa plays Philip, a charismatic yet menacing Ramapo-Indian who attended high school with a cop and his now wife. The character's been sent back to town by his crime-lord father to establish a new base of operations.
Aaron Guzikowski is penning the script while Sarah Condon ("Bored to Death") will produce. Bridget Carpenter ("Friday Night Lights") serves as show runner.
