Joss Whedon says that "The Avengers" actress Cobie Smulders is now confirmed to be reprising her role of Agent Maria Hill in the upcoming series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".

Whedon says: "I wanted very much to have Cobie in the pilot because as much as anyone else, she IS SHIELD. She’s cool and commanding, and has the dry humor that plays so well with Clark’s. Also, if she’s in it I get to hang out with Cobie."

Smulders is reportedly set to appear in the pilot, along with guest starring in a few episodes of the show's first season.

In other small screen superhero news, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb says that the proposed Hulk TV series has been put on hold. The company is reportedly too focused at present on its Phase 2 films and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".
