Jake Gyllenhaal has had to drop out of Disney's Cinderella musical "Into the Woods" as a result of a scheduling conflict.
Gyllenhaal had been in negotiations to play Rapunzel's Prince in the Rob Marshall directed musical.
However, he had already committed to Dan Gilroy's edgy indie thriller "Nightcrawler" which has just scored the green light at Bold Films. Gyllenhaal, Tony Gilroy, Jennifer Fox, Michel Litvak and David Lancaster are producing.
Gyllenhaal will play a small-time Los Angeles criminal who gets a little too swept up in the nocturnal world of the city's crime journalism community.
A five-week shoot will take place in early October, which conflicts with the October/November shoot of 'Woods' and prompted Gyllenhaal's exit.
