John Hawkes, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, and Jake Gyllenhaal are all set to join "The Deep" filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur's mountain climbing disaster flick "Everest" at Working Title
The story is based on the disastrous 1996 incident in which three different expeditions climbing Mount Everest were hit by a sudden blinding storm.
By the time it was all over, eight climbers died. Scribe Justin Isbell used Jon Krakauer's first person account "Into Thin Air" along with various interviews to assemble the tale.
Universal Pictures and Emmett/Furla Films are in discussions to co-finance the project, and shooting aims to begin in November.
