While James Cameron is firmly focused on the prepping the "Avatar" sequels at the moment, the filmmaker took time out to visit a technology forum in Mexico City this past week.
While there, he revealed that he is keen on exploring trans-human themes, themes that will extend to his "Battle Angel" feature. Cameron says he will begin to develop "Battle Angel" in 2017, likely when work on "Avatar 3" is over.
Cameron also took the opportunity to shoot down 3D conversion jobs: "One thing is shooting in 3D and another is to convert to 3D," and that films like Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 "should not necessarily be in 3D. If you spend $150 million on visual effects, the film is already going to [look] spectacular [and] perfect."
