Following on from some stellar test screening results, Fox Searchlight has reportedly moved up the release of "Shame" director Steve McQueen's "Twelve Years A Slave".

The likely awards contender will now score a limited platform release starting October 18th rather than late December as originally planned.

Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt, Quvenzhané Wallis, Paul Dano, Sarah Paulson, Alfre Woodard and Paul Giamatti star in the project which deals with the true story of one man's fight for survival and freedom in the pre-Civil War America.
