Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles are in negotiations to reprise the roles played by Gregory Peck and Lee Remick in Fox's remake of 1976 horror classic "The Omen" says Variety. Locking in these two key roles means that an October start of shooting date is looking set for the thriller.

The original film followed the birth of a young boy who is revealed to be the Anti-Christ, and was helmed by Richard Donner. This remake has Fox-based director John Moore ("Flight of the Phoenix") directing from a script by Dan McDermott, and is already scheduled for an opening on June 6th 2006.

In other horror classic remake news, Leelee Sobieski and Ellen Burstyn are joining Nicolas Cage in Neil LaBute's indie "The Wicker Man" says The Hollywood Reporter. A remake of a 1973 British horror film, "Wicker Man" centers on a police officer (Cage) who is investigating the disappearance of a girl in a small cultlike community. Sobieski plays a barmaid who is Cage's confidant. Burstyn plays the head of the cult. The film is shooting in Vancouver.
