Filmmaker Roland Emmerich says that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming two-film sequel to 1996's "Independence Day".
Goldblum played programmer David Levinson and Pullman starred as President Thomas J. Whitmore. The pair were arguably the ensemble film's biggest characters aside from Will Smith's Captain Steven Hiller (Smith will NOT be returning).
Emmerich also says that the film will sport a gay character, and he's not sure yet if the White House will be blown up again.
The new films are set on present-day Earth, when the aliens return and a younger generation is tasked with fighting them off.
