Alcon Entertainment is set to finance and produce a sequel to the 2011 family feature "Dolphin Tale" which Warner Bros. Pictures will release.
The film is a true story inspired by the life of both Winter, and a new baby dolphin named Hope who was rescued by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in 2010.
Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman, Kris Kristofferson and more are in negotiations to return for the sequel. The first film's director Charles Martin Smith will helm and pen the follow-up as well.
Winter, who still resides at the aquarium, played herself in the original and returns for the sequel.
Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce, and a September 19th 2014 release is planned.
