One of the most anticipated titles of the year finally hits the United States and a couple of other international territories today. The pressure is high for "Man of Steel" to perform, and estimates are that the Superman reboot could earn around $80-100 million domestically by the end of its opening weekend.
Reviews have ranged the gamut - massive raves in some corners, outright pans in others, and a LOT of responses somewhere in between. On Rotten Tomatoes it has pulled in a 58% T-Meter score and a 6.3/10 average rating, the latter on par with Marvel's "Thor". On Metacritic it sits at 55/100, the same score as other recent films like "The Great Gatsby" and "The Croods".
Due to the delayed Australian release, I myself won't get to see the film for at least another week and half so I can't weigh in on the reaction. I am, however, keen to hear what you think - let me know below. SPOILERS are allowed, so be warned.
