Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to pass on plans to make a sequel to the 1994 comedy "Dumb and Dumber".
It has taken nearly twenty years, but original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have finally agreed to return for a potential sequel.
However, despite a budget in the low $30 million range, the studio has reportedly lost interest and is unwilling to give it the green light.
A big factor was said to have been the box-office failure of "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" despite an acclaimed turn by Carrey.
So, Warners is now allowing the project to be shopped around to find a new financier and distributor.
Bobby and Peter Farrelly are back at the helm of the film which will see Carrey and Daniels' characters hit the road to find Daniels' illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant.
Brad Krevoy, Steve Stabler, Charlie Wessler and Bradley Thomas are set to produce.
