ABC is finalizing deals for a thirteen-episode, straight-to-series order for the drama "The Black Box" from Bold Films.
Amy Holden Jones ("The Relic," "Mystic Pizza") is penning the project which also involves "The L Word" creator Ilene Chaiken, "X-Men" director Bryan Singer, and producers Oly Obst ("The Invention of Lying") and Anne Thomopoulos ("Borgia").
The story follows a world renowned neuroscientist who appears to have it all but is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness. There's also another secret she has kept locked away from her family and her new fiancé.
The series is being eyed for a potential midseason debut.
