Keira Knightley is in talks to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the Alan Turing biopic "The Imitation Game" at Black Bear Pictures and Ampersand Pictures.
Graham Moore penned the much-heralded screenplay which is a biopic of Turing, an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist, criminally prosecuted and chemically castrated homosexual, and tortured soul who committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple.
Turing was highly influential in the founding of computer science and artificial intelligence, along with devising techniques for breaking German ciphers during the Second World War. He was also one of the earliest to explore the biological process of morphogenesis.
Details on Knightley's role remain vague however. Morten Tyldum ("Headhunters") directs the project which Teddy Schwarzman, Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will produce.
