Guardians of the Galaxy
Former "Doctor Who" companion Karen Gillan has scored the lead female villain in James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" for Marvel Studios.
The specifics of the role have not been disclosed. Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Lee Pace, and Glenn Close also star. [Source: THR]
Chris and Liam's brother Luke Hemsworth, "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder, and acting veteran Brian Cox are set to star in Noel Clarke's sci-fi action-thriller "The Anomaly".

Mining For Ruby
Judd Nelson, Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Ponickly and Antoinette Kalaj will star in the indie drama feature "Mining For Ruby" for Lock & Monkey Productions. Shooting begins later this month in Alaska.
Ponickly plays a widower dealing with his continued depression who falls for Ruby (Kalaj), a passionate environmentalist embroiled in a poisonous waste controversy. Nelson will portray a professor. [Source: Variety]
Tom Wilkinson will join the cast of Henrik Genz's thriller "Good People" at Millennium Films which has begun filming at Shepperton Studios. James Franco, Kate Hudson and Omar Sy also star.
