Even though the first sequel isn't out for another two months, Lionsgate-Summit has already signed writers Jon and Erich Hoeber to pen the third installment of the "RED" film franchise.
The original 2010 film, based on a comic book mini-series by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, followed over-the-hill operatives kicking the butts of younger agents. Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich star.
Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian will produce. The Hoeber's wrote the first two "RED" films and Summit has reportedly been highly encouraged by high test scores for the upcoming second film.
The 2010 film raked in an impressive $199 million worldwide at the box-office from a modest budget. If the script for the third film is approved, filming could begin as early as January.
