David O. Russell is set to write and direct the long-developing "Legacy Of Secrecy".
Based on the book by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann, the story posits the theory that Mafia godfather Carlos Marcello told FBI informant Jack van Laningham that he was behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas in November 1963.
Leonardo DiCaprio was attached to the project a few years ago and is seemingly still onboard to play van Laningham. Russell is also bringing his "Silver Linings Playbook" star Robert DeNiro on to play Marcello.
