Barely Lethal
Samuel L. Jackson is in final negotiations to co-star with Hailee Steinfeld in Kyle Newman's indie "Barely Lethal" at Rat Entertainment, RKO Pictures and Hopscotch Pictures.

The story follows a 16-year-old international assassin yearning for a 'normal' adolescence who fakes her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school. Jackson will play her mentor who trains her in the program. [Source: Variety]

Almanac
Jonny Weston ("Chasing Mavericks") and Sofia Black-D’Elia ("Gossip Girl") are in negotiations to star in Dean Israelite's $12 million found footage thriller "Almanac" at Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes.

The story centers on the creation of a time machine and is one of two competing found footage projects that has time travel at its core (the other being Dreamworks' "Glimmer"). Shooting begins this summer in Atlanta. [Source: Heat Vision]

Guidance
Seann William Scott will star in Ira Rosensweig's high school comedy "Guidance" for Myriad Pictures and Depth of Field

Scott will portray a down-on-his-luck guidance counselor who alters transcripts to help a student that reminds him of himself. Leslie Bibb will play his love interest. [Source: Variety]

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Jocko Sims (TV's "Crash") has joined the cast of Matt Reeves' "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" at 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment. Sims will portray the supporting role of military operative Werner.

The story is set in an apocalyptic future more than a decade after 'Rise,' a time when the ape population far exceeds humans.
Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi-Smit McPhee and Gary Oldman also star. [Source: Variety]
