Casting News: Hayek, Whaley, Nyqvist

Salma Hayek has signed on to star in Joe Lynch's action thriller "Everly" based on a Black List script by Yale Hannon. Shooting begins in Belgrade this Summer.

Set entirely in one room, the story follows a down-on-her-luck woman forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss. [Source: Deadline]

Rob the Mob
Frank Whaley ("Ray Donovan," "World Trade Center") has joined the cast of Raymond De Felitta’s crime drama "Rob the Mob". Andy Garcia and Ray Romano also star.

Whaley will play a private detective who investigates a couple (Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda) who brazenly steal from mob-run social clubs in New York City until they stumble upon a coveted list of every mafioso in town. [Source: Variety]

My So-Called Father
Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol") has joined Ulf Malmros' dramedy "My So-Called Father."

The story follows a self-involved dad and the estranged daughter who tries to re-create him when he loses his memory. [Source: Deadline]
