Rumors from earlier today have now been confirmed by Universal Pictures - production on the Colin Trevorrow-directed fourth "Jurassic Park" has been pushed back.
With the proposed June 13th 2014 release date now no longer on the cards, Sony has already pushed back its "21 Jump Street" sequel to that weekend.
In an official statement, Universal says:
"In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal's beloved franchise.
We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history."
The statement comes after several crew members on the project sent out tweets saying things like "JP on hold" and "Hollywood makes and crushes dreams. Goodbye JP4."
