While no final decision has been made, it is looking likely that Showtime's "The Borgias" will forgo its planned fourth and final season in favor of a two-hour telemovie to wrap its story.
The series is currently in the midst of a ten episode third season, and the plan was to originally match the four season layout of Showtime's predecessor "The Tudors".
Now though, creator Neil Jordan appears to have changed his mind. He tells the British press:
"I would like to finish it with a two-hour movie. Another ten episodes is kind of exhausting. I've mapped out a movie, which, if (Showtime brass) agree, will shoot in June with the same cast, and finally the Pope will die horribly."
No final decision is expected until after the currently airing third season ends in mid-late June.
