Casting: Copley, Hamm, Bernal, O'Dowd

Chappie
"District 9" and "Elysium" writer-director Neill Blomkamp and star Sharlto Copley will re-team for a third sci-fi feature together - "Chappie".

All that's known of the story is that it's in an unusual setting and will feature comedic elements. [Source: EW]

Minions
Jon Hamm will provide the voice of Herb Overkill, husband to super-villainess Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), in Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures' upcoming CG animated feature "Minions".

A spin-off of "Despicable Me," this is set before the Minions met Gru. At the time they serve Scarlet Overkill, a stylish woman bent on world domination. [Source: Deadline]

El Ardor
Gael Garcia Bernal and Alice Braga have joined the cast of Pablo Fendrik's modern day western "El Ardor" for Participant Media. Shooting will take place in Argentina.

Garcia Bernal plays a mysterious man who emerges from the Amazon rainforest to rescue the kidnapped daughter (Braga) of a poor farmer after mercenaries murder her father and take over his property. [Source: THR]

Coward
Chris O’Dowd ("Bridesmaids," "The Sapphiers") will star opposite Adam Driver ("Girls") in Max Winkler's "The Coward". The 18th century set film is an adaptation of the Nick Jones play.

The story focuses on the cowardly son of a nobleman (Driver), who decides to hire a common criminal (O’Dowd) to fight a contest. The criminal soon tries to kill the man, and take his place in high society, something the father completely goes along with. [Source: THR]
