"There Will Be Blood" and "The Master" director Paul Thomas Anderson‘s next project, "Inherent Vice," is expected to begin shooting this month.
Cigs & Red Vines got an update on the project which was previously set to be produced by Annapurna Pictures. Now, Warner Bros. Pictures have reportedly come aboard to fully finance the film. Anderson is said to be filling out his supporting cast at the moment.
Based on Thomas Pynchon‘s novel, Joaquin Phoenix plays a pot-smoking detective on a kidnapping case in late 1960s Los Angeles.
Cinematographer Robert Elswit, a frequent PTA collaborater, will also be returning for this project which will hit screens sometime next year.
