Walmart has become the first retailer to sell tickets to an advance screening of a studio film - in this case "Man of Steel".
The retail giant will offer nearly a million tickets to "Man of Steel" at 3,700 stores nationwide beginning May 18th at 8am.
The tickets will be for 6,372 exclusive screenings at 2,379 theaters scheduled on June 13th, the day before the film's official release on June 14th.
Consumers will be able to purchase up to four tickets for either 2D or 3D showings in their area. Advance tickets won't be made available through more traditional outlets until a few days later.
The ticket price will also include a free code to pre-order a Blu-ray combo pack or HD digital download of the film containing exclusive film content.
