Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment are teaming for a 3D-animated film adaptation of the PlayStation-exclusive "Ratchet & Clank" video game series.
Ratchet is a lombax, the last of his kind and a foolhardy adventurer. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. The two unlikely heroes struggle to save their galaxy.
First introduced in 2002, the games became a successful series and have sold 26 million copies worldwide. Key talent from the game will also be featured in the film including James A. Taylor, David Kaye and Jim Ward.
Jericca Cleland will direct from a script by TJ Fixman, the same senior writer from the game series. An early 2015 is being targeted, and in fact an 'Announcement Trailer' has already gone online.
