Academy voters will have one more week to mark their nomination ballots in 2006 than they did this year says The Hollywood Reporter.
The 78th Annual Academy Awards are set to take place Sunday, March 5 -- one week later than they were held this year.
The delay is because the Academy didn't want to go head-to-head against the closing ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics, which NBC will broadcast February 26th from Turin, Italy.
That in turn has allowed the Academy to build an extra week into its 2006 balloting schedule by accommodating that week into the beginning of the balloting process.
