Casting: Vega, Burstyn, Cassidy, Diaz

Pompeii
Paz Vega has joined the cast of Paul W.S. Anderson’s historical drama "Pompeii" at Constantin Film and Impact Films. Vega will star as Strigana, the dark and mysterious high priestess of ancient Pompeii.

The story follows an enslaved gladiator (Kit Harington) who faces the tyrant (Kiefer Sutherland) who years before murdered his family and now threatens to steal his lover (Emily Browning). Jared Harris, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pingue also star. [Source: Variety]

Draft Day
Acting veteran Ellen Burstyn has joined the cast of Ivan Reitman's NFL-centric feature "Draft Day" at Summit, Montecito Pictures and OddLot Entertainment.

Kevin Costner plays a general manager who must make some tough professional and personal choices in the 24-hour period of the NFL draft.

Burstyn will play Costner’s tough mother, whose football coach of a husband just passed away and must now deal with her son.

Denis Leary and Frank Langella also star. Shooting begins in New York City next week. [Source: THR]

Tomorrowland
Raffey Cassidy ("Snow White and the Huntsman") will star opposite George Clooney in the lead and Hugh Laurie as the villain in Disney;s top-secret "Tomorrowland" feature.

The story follows a bitter inventor searching for extra-terrestrials on Earth. Cassidy will play a young girl robot who has been around for decades, and had a previous relationship with said inventor. [Source: HEat Vision]

Sex Tape
Cameron Diaz is in talks to join the Jake Kasdan-directed comedy "Sex Tape" alongside Jason Segel. Kate Angelo ("The Back Up Plan") penned the script.

Diaz and Segel would play a married couple who attempt to improve their relationship by making a tape of themselves in the bedroom. The next morning, the couple wake up to a disaster when they discover the tape has gone missing. [Source: Digital Spy]
