It doesn't open until August, but already Constantin Films has begun work on a prequel to the upcoming young adult fantasy romance franchise hopeful "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones".
Stephanie Sanditz has been hired to pen an adaptation of 'Mortal' author Cassandra Clare's spin-off book series "Infernal Devices".
'Mortal' deals with a young girl in contemporary times discovering she is part of a hidden race of angels known as Shadowhunters locked in a battle with warlocks and vampires.
'Infernal' is set in Victorian England and follows a new teen girl plunged into a journey of adventure and self-discovery. Both a couple of 'Mortal' characters, and various ancestors of others, appear in the three spin-off books published so far.
Constantin is also seeking a director for the project.
