Dolby Laboratories, Philips Electronics and CAMERON | PACE Group (CPG) are teaming to develop a Dolby 3D format which will now be integrated into the CPG 3D video content production process.

The trio of companies hope to "deliver what we believe to be the best possible 3D experience to consumers—without the need for special glasses" says CPG founder Vince Pace.

The aim is to bring glasses free 3D TV to the home entertainment scene using the Dolby 3D format to deliver "premium-quality autostereoscopic 3D content".

This would negate the use of special 3D glasses, and do away with a specific "angle of view" so it will offer equally sharp 3D images no matter where you are seated.
