Casting: Takarada, Huston, Barinholtz, Mara

Godzilla
Akira Takarada, who made his feature debut in Toho's 1954 original "Godzilla," has shot a cameo for the upcoming reboot directed by Gareth Edwards.

Edwards revealed the news via a set photo he tweeted. Takarada played diver Hideto Ogata in the original. [Source: Twitter]

Untitled Abscam Project
Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire") has just joined the cast of David O. Russell's untitled ABSCAM project. Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence also star.

The film is inspired by a true story of a notorious financial con artist and his mistress/partner in crime, who were forced to work with an overly ambitious federal agent to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters and politicians. [Source: Deadline]

Townies
Ike Barinholtz ("The Mindy Project," "MADtv") has been cast alongside Seth Rogen and Zac Efron in Nick Stoller's upcoming raunchy comedy "Townies" at Universal.

The story follows a man (Rogen) who lives near a frat house. The neighboring debauchery causes trouble for his home life. Rose Byrne, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse also star. [Source: THR]

Transcendence
Kate Mara ("10 Years," "House of Cards") has joined Wally Pfister's sci-fi feature "Transcendence" at Alcon Entertainment.
