Warner Bros. Pictures have picked up the screen rights to "In The Heart Of The Sea" author Nathaniel Philbrick's upcoming non-fiction work "Bunker Hill: A City, A Siege, A Revolution".

Warners acquired the property for Pearl Street Films to produce and develop as a potential directing vehicle for "Argo" helmer Ben Affleck.

In the 1770s after the Boston Tea Party, tensions rose between Bostonians and British troops to the point of outright fighting. The Battle of Bunker Hill was a bloody clash that united the colonies and essentially kicked off the American Revolutionary War.

The story is told from a group of participants, including a 33-year-old physician named Joseph Warren, who becomes a leader of the Patriot cause; Paul Revere, George Washington, British General Thomas Gage, and others.

"Argo" scribe Chris Terrio is expected to work on the script adaptation shortly as Affleck is presently busy adapting the Dennis Lehane novel "Live By Night" to direct, star in and produce.
