John, Kevin & Guillermo Talk Projects

Three of genre's most beloved directors have spoken out about the potential future of three anticipated films in development:

John Carpenter was asked by Moviehole about the rumours of a "Thing" sequel - "I have a great story for Part 2, which kicks off with the two characters left alive at the end of the first one. I’m interested in doing it. Unfortunately, I don’t think Universal is. Well, it’s interested in doing a sequel, but it’s not interested in having me direct it! You know, the studio will end up getting some commercial hotshot to do it, and that’ll be that. I don’t care. I’m certainly not going to beg. At least, though, The Thing has been really well received in its later years. That’s a pleasant finger up at Universal, and a comforting thought in my later years". As for coming back to the "Halloween" franchise? "my motto is : never say never. I have some ideas up my sleeve that would f**king blow you away".

Kevin Smith just did a huge interview with Hero Realm and aside from talk of "Jersey Girl", the "Green Hornet" came up and he spoke a LOT about how Miramax will be involved in the production process - click here for that.

Finally in a testament to speed, within hours of rumours emerging that he was interested in helming a second "Daredevil" flick, Director Guillermo Del Toro quickly denied the links in a statement on the Hellboy Messageboards: "Not true at all. I have been approached for other Marvel projects. But not this one. As of now I have no plans to do a comic movie in the future except for DOMU and/or COFFIN".
