Jump Street Films has optioned the film rights to New York writer Peter Cameron's 1997 novel "Andorra" and will produce the film with Cargo Entertainment.
Cameron is writing the screenplay, and the story follows Alexander Fox, an elegant gent who leaves the United States to start a new life in the tiny nation of Andorra on the French/Spanish border.
He soon finds himself drawn to two women – a tall Australian blonde with a giant dog, and the reserved heartbroken daughter of the town's matriarch. When a dead body turns up in the harbor Fox becomes the prime suspect.
No director is yet set, but shooting aims to begin next year in Europe and Australia.
