Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Zach Galifianakis have joined the cast of Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu's dark comedy "Birdman" at Fox Searchlight and New Regency.
Keaton stars as a former actor who once played an iconic superhero. He is now mounting a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story in a bid to reclaim past glory. However, the play's egotistical leading man threatens to throw everything down the tubes.
Stone will play Keaton's fresh from rehab daughter and assistant. Watts will be an actress in the play, and Galifianakis will play the production's conniving producer.
Gonzalez Inarritu co-wrote the script with Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris and Armando Bo. Inarritu, Robert Graf and John Lesher will produce, and shooting kicks off early April.
