"The Spectacular Now" and "(500) Days of Summer" scribes Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber have been hired to write an adaptation of Amor Towles' 2011 novel "Rules of Civility" for Lionsgate.

Set in late-1930s New York City, the story centers on a young woman's rise from a Wall Street secretarial pool to the heights of Manhattan society.

The story examines how spur-of-the-moment decisions can define lives for decades to come. Oprah Winfrey named it the most cinematic book of 2011.
