The Weinstein Company has locked down the release dates for four of this year's possible major awards contenders on the next go around of the awards circuit. The new dates include:
This year's Sundance winner "Fruitvale" on October 18th. The true story drama follows the final day of a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who was shot to death on New Year's Day 2009.
The all-star adaptation of the comedic play "August: Osage County" is slated for November 8th. Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sam Shepard and many more have roles.
The officially sanctioned biopic "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," starring Idris Elba as South African leader and humanitarian Nelson Mandela, is set to open November 29th.
Finally, the Nicole Kidman-led "Grace of Monaco", a film about Grace Kelly's intervention in a French/Monaco legal matter, is slated for a December 27th theatrical release.
