New Line has attached Takashi Shimizu, director of Japan's boffo horror pic "Ju-On" and its English-language remake "The Grudge," to helm "Parasyte." "Parasyte" is based on a 12-part Manga comicbook series by Hitosi Iwaaki that's published in English by the TokyoPop imprint. Current screenplay is by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (Par's "Aeon Flux") penned the screenplay, which has been rewritten by Matt Drake. "Columbia Pictures' "Monster House" will be released in 3-D on 100 digital screens day-and-date with its national release July 21, 2006. "Monster House," produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg, is the second film to use Sony Imageworks' "performance capture" technology last seen in "The Polar Express," which was released in Imax 3-D.
