Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have worked on the scripts of every James Bond film since 1999's "The World is Not Enough," are set to pen a new TV series based on classic 1960s sci-fi character "Barbarella".

Purvis and Wade will reimagine Jean-Claude Forest's comic character made famous by the Jane Fonda-led 1968 film.

"Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn is set to direct the pilot and executive produce the series. Gaumont International Television, Canal+ and Martha De Laurentiis will produce.
