The 2013 Golden Globes Winners

This year's Golden Globe winners have been announced with "Argo" and "Les Miserables" dominating the film categories. There were no real surprises this year, aside from maybe "Brave" winning over "Frankenweenie" and "Wreck-It Ralph." In every other case the favorite to win the category essentially won. "Argo," which had been losing steam, has come back as a contender and can't be so easily discounted any more.

On the TV front "Homeland" dominated the drama field, despite reviews for the second season indicating a slight slip in quality. HBO meanwhile scored big in the comedy and mini-series sections for Lena Dunham's comedy "Girls" and the tele-movie "Game Change."

The highlight of the night though had to be Jodie Foster's often moving, sometimes obtuse, but genuinely honest and heartfelt acceptance speech for the lifetime achievement award.
