Disney Plans Remake Of "Dolphin Boy"

Disney Pictures and Mandeville Films have picked up the remake rights to Israeli documentary "Dolphin Boy."

Dani Menkin and Yonatan Nir's doco revolves around a teenager from an Arab village in northern Israel who is traumatized from a violent attack and slowly recovers with the help of dolphins.

"The Bucket List" scribe Justin Zackham will pen the script for a narrative feature adaptation that's expected to be done on a modest budget (ala "The Odd Life of Timothy Green"). David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce.
