NYFCC Awards
The New York Film Critics Circle have just announced their annual awards, one of the most important non-guild awards on the circuit. After the usual fist fights, twitter craziness and needlessly drawn out balloting process, here's the complete list of winners.

Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" and Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" proved the big winners. ZDT won Best Film after numerous voting rounds put it ahead of "Argo" in second and "The Master" in third.

Best Film: "Zero Dark Thirty"
Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow for "Zero Dark Thirty"

Best Non-fiction Film: "The Central Park Five"
Best Animated Film: "Frankenweenie"
Best Foreign Language Film: "Amour"
Best First Feature: "How To Survive a Plague"

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis for "Lincoln"
Best Actress: Rachel Weisz for "The Deep Blue Sea"

Best Supporting Actor: Matthew McConaughey for "Magic Mike" & "Bernie"
Best Supporting Actress: Sally Field for "Lincoln"

Best Screenplay: Tony Kushner for "Lincoln"
Best Cinematography: Greig Fraser for "Zero Dark Thirty"

Annie Awards
The International Animated Film Society have announced nominations for its 40th Annual Annie Awards which award the year's best work in animation.

"Brave," "Frankenweenie," "Hotel Transylvania," "ParaNorman," "Rise of the Guardians," "The Pirates! Band of Misfits," "The Rabbi’s Cat," and "Wreck-It Ralph" are all up for Best Animated Feature.

The awards cover 30 categories for film, television, even video games ("Journey" & "Borderlands 2" are the big nominees there)

Best Documentary Oscar
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have announced fifteen films that have made the semi-final round of the Documentary Feature category at the 85th Academy Awards. These fifteen will be whittled down to five for the final list of nominees announced on January 10th for the Best Documentary doco.

The list includes: "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry," "Bully," "Chasing Ice," "Detropia," "Ethel," "5 Broken Cameras," "The Gatekeepers," "The House I Live In," "How to Survive a Plague," "The Imposter," "The Invisible War," "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God," "Searching for Sugar Man," "This Is Not a Film," and "The Waiting Room."
