"Kick-Ass" and "X-Men: First Class" co-writer Jane Goldman has come onboard the proposed live-action "Pinocchio" movie at Warner Bros. Pictures.

The studio is pursuing director Tim Burton and actor Robert Downey Jr. to get involved in the project which is not to be confused with the Guillermo del Toro-helmed 3D stop-motion animated version in development at the Jim Henson Company.

Jack Nicholson is also being sought to play the part of Geppetto's father, but no-one is signed as yet.

"Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller wrote the original draft, while Goldman is coming onboard and will incorporate some of Downey's notes.
