Two wild but interesting bits of casting talk today.
First up British tabloid The Sun claims pop queen Lady Gaga is being sought to join the cast of the upcoming "Zoolander" sequel.
The singer would score a reported $5 million for the role, a love interest that comes between Hansel and Derek, with their source claiming "Gaga is top of their wish-list. She has the talent and attitude — and an amazing sense of humour."
The report also floats Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima as potential backups, and claims shooting will finally begin early next year. We'll see.
Update: Ben Stiller has shot down the report, tweeting that "Zoolander LadyGaga story is not true. Weird that OK magazine would print something untrue. Weird to read a made up story on the internet."
Meanwhile a Playboy interview with political comedian Stephen Colbert hinted at a possible cameo for the show host in a certain big-budget Tolkien adaptation - Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit".
Colbert says "I flew out and watched them shoot some scenes and went to some locations. I saw a 25-minute cut, and it was amazing. Jackson knows I’m a big fan of the films.” Asked if he is cameoing, he responded "Could be.”
