"Win Win" director Tom McCarthy and "The West Wing" scribe Josh Singer are teaming for the untitled Boston Globe project at Anonymous Content and Rocklin/Faust says Variety.
The story deals with the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who spent a year investigating and later exposing the Catholic Church's decades-long cover-up of child molestation in Massachusetts. The articles set off a tidal wave of revelations around the world.
Because of the subject's sensitivity, McCarthy has been working in secret for more than a year on the project which chronicles the worldwide scandal. The life rights to the Globe editors and reporters responsible have also been secured.
Steve Golin, Michael Sugar, Nicole Rocklin and Blye Faust are producing the film which is said to be in the vein of a classic journalism feature like "All the President's Men".
