"Legally Blonde" scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith have been brought onboard to write "ExpendaBelles" for Millennium Films says Deadline.
Millennium, which produced the Stallone-led franchise, is financing the project and describes it as a spin-off showcasing the feminine side of the mercenary business. The plan is to launch another franchise driven by action film stars, albeit female ones this time out.
Millennium is compiling a list of potential stars but won't make offers until the script arrives. The project is the second film of this kind in development, the other being the one at 1984 Private Defense Contractors which "Haywire" star Gina Carano has become attached to.
