Beyonce Knowles has dropped out of Clint Eastwood's "A Star Is Born" remake at Warner Bros. Pictures says Variety.
Knowles has been attached as the female lead on the project for well over a year, but the film has been floundering in its struggle to find a male lead. Beyonce's pregnancy has also pushed back the start date.
Knowles' departure is due to scheduling conflicts. Without a set start date for 'Star', the scheduling has just become too complicated for the singer.
Eastwood is reportedly interested in jazz musician Esperanza Spaulding as a possible replacement, however Eastwood is determined to lock in a male lead first before sending out offers for the female lead.
Will Fetters penned the most recent draft while Jon Peters, Bill Gerber and Basil Iwanyk are producing.
