From Colin covered in bodily fluids to Halle Berry slinking around in leather - its a colourful year ahead for the AOL-less reinvigorated Time-Warner corporation. On the cards are two ancient epics, a horror prequel, a doggie sequel, a demonic comic, a killer thriller, wacky comedies, and more Harry Potter.
Films on their slate for 2004 include: "A Cinderella Story" - "Dorky" girl Sam (Hilary Duff) finds herself changing overnight when her phone is found by a mysterious guy (Chad Michael Murray), with whom she SMS/e-mail corresponds with and will finally meet at the Halloween school dance.(pic - top row, left) "A Sound of Thunder" - Based on the Ray Bradbury short story. A game hunter goes on a time-traveling safari to hunt dinosaurs in the prehistoric era. When confronted by a Tyrannosaurus, he loses his nerve, stumbles off the appointed path and inadvertently changes history. "Alexander" - Directed by Oliver Stone. Biopic based on the life of Alexander the Great (Colin Farrell), the young Macedonian general who conquered 90% of the world. This follows his eight year campaigns into Persia, Egypt, and India along with his close male and female relationships.(pic - top row, middle) "Aviator, The" - Directed by Martin Scorsese. Based upon the early years (1930-1946) in the life of mogul Howard Hughes who started out as a Hollywood film producer before spreading out into other areas including aviation which lead to the massive flying boat 'The Spruce Goose'. (pic - top of page & top row, right) "Big Bounce, The" - A charming drifter (Owen Wilson) takes a job taking care of an ailing Hawaii judge (Morgan Freeman), which leads him to getting involved with a beautiful woman planning to help swindle a real estate tycoon with whom she was involved. "Catwoman" - Patience Price (Halle Berry) is a veternary scientist/cat-loving gymnast who was recently killed by an industrialist. Revived by a flock of felines, she now seeks revenge on her killer in the guise of 'Catwoman' - a suit-clad vixen with a skill for martial arts. (pic - upper middle row, left)
"Chasing Liberty" - Frustrated that her dad (the US president) won't let her out of the Secret Service's sight, young teen first daughter Anna (Mandy Moore) escapes observation at a concert in Prague and runs off with a charming English stranger, unaware he really works for her dad. "Constantine" - Based on the comic "Hellblazer". John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) is a globe-trotting and somewhat unstable mystic who investigates supernatural mysteries who must team up with a female cop to investigate a mysterious group known as 'The First of the Fallen'.(pic - upper middle row, middle) "Exorcist: The Beginning" - Prequel to the original horror film classic. This follows the journey of Father Merrin (Stellan Skarsgard) as a young priest traveling through Africa which leads him to his first encounter with demonic forces in a hidden underground temple. (pic - upper middle row, right) "Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban " - Based on the third book by JK Rowling. Hogwarts is in a panic after escaped murderer Sirius Black comes after Harry, who in his third year is not only seeing death omens but has trouble facing the ghostly Dementor guards around the school.
"New York Minute" - One day in the life of Long Island twins Jane & Roxy (Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen) who sneak off to NYC together. Things go wrong when Jane's dayplanner somehow becomes implicated in the kidnapping of the pet dog of a powerful senator.
"Ocean's Twelve" - Sequel to 2001's hit Steven Soderbergh flick "Ocean's 11". Danny Ocean is back and teams up with the old gang plus a new member to pull off not one but three simultaneous heists across Europe, unaware an old enemy is hot on their trail. "Phantom of the Opera" - Based on the famous A.L. Weber musical. 'Phantom' tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano. (pic - lower middle row, left) "Polar Express, The" - CG animated film directed by Robert Zemeckis. A young boy's unyielding faith in Santa Claus is rewarded one Christmas Eve when he's awakened by a steam train that pulls up in front of his house and takes him and other children to the North Pole. "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" - The gang confront an anonymous masked villain who is plotting to take over the city of Coolsville by wreaking mayhem with a monster machine that creates Mystery Inc.'s classic foes like The Creeper and Captain Cutler. (pic - lower middle row, middle) "Starsky & Hutch" - Feature film adaptation of the 1970's TV series. Two young plain clothes detectives, Ken "Hutch" Hutchinso (Owen Wilson) and Dave Starsky (Ben Stiller) always seem to get the toughest cases from their boss, Captain Dobey, and relying on omniscient street informer Huggy Bear. "Spartan" - Directed by David Mamet. A "lone wolf" U.S. government secret agent, Scott (Val Kilmer), is assigned the task of rescuing the kidnapped daughter of the president, only to discover along the way a larger, more sinister plot with origins within the White House itself. (pic - bottom row, left) "Taking Lives" - From Director Dj Caruso ("The Salton Sea"). An FBI profiler (Angelina Jolie) is on the trail of a young Dutch serial killer who assumes the lives and identities (hence the title) of the people he kills as he travels across America and has already selected another victim. (pic - bottom row, middle) "Torque" - In the fast-paced world of motorcycle racing, a biker (Martin Henderson) is framed by a long-time rival for the death of the brother of the most notorious and feared biker gang's leader. Soon he must escape both the 'Machines' and the FBI's tail. "Troy" - Based on Homer's "The Illiad". In 1193 B.C., Prince Paris of Troy stole the beautiful Greek woman Helen from her husband King Menelaus of Sparta, setting the two nations at war. Soon, the Greeks begin a bloody siege of Troy using their entire armada, led by Achilles.(pic - bottom row, right) "Untitled Ballard Project" (aka. Cheetah) - Follows the unbreakable bond of friendship between a cheetah named Duma and Xan, an intrepid young boy who faces the true test of love when he crosses the whole of Southern Africa to return his best friend to the wilds. "Whole Ten Yards, The" - Sequel to "The Whole Nine Yards". Retired hitman Jimmy Tudeski (Bruce Willis) now spends his days cleaning his house. Suddenly, a connection to his past appears: its Oz (Matthew Perry), who asks for help rescuing his wife from a Hungarian mob. "Yu-Gi-Oh!" - The first feature length movie based upon the popular Japanese anime series. A teenager has unlocked the secrets to the five millenia old mystical 'Shadow Game' whose players nearly destroyed the world and have yet to finish their turn.
