Sesso Entertainment Group has acquired film rights to Kurt Muse and John Gilstrap true-life 2006 action-adventure novel "Six Minutes to Freedom" says Variety.

The story follows an American living in Panama who was arrested in 1989 under the direct order of Noriega in retribution for his involvement in a plot to overthrow the dictator.

He was tortured during his nine months at Modelo Prison and was rescued by Delta Force operatives during the opening moments of the U.S. invasion.

Gilstrap is adapting the script and the project is now out to directors. Samuel V. Franco ("Affluenza") and Trish Hofmann ("Hemingway and Gellhorn") will produce with shooting aiming to begin by late next year.
