With Netflix credited for boosting the ratings of "Breaking Bad" on AMC, ABC aims for a similar treatment with its serialized dramas. "Revenge," "Scandal" and "Once Upon a Time" are all set to make the jump to Netflix in the U.S. at the end of the month.
The move makes the first season of each show available to watch instantly just days before the second-season premieres of each. While serialized dramas have been of diminishing value in syndication, these types of shows thrive on VOD platforms. [Source: Deadline]
The full trailer has gone up for Julian Jarrold's telemovie "The Birds" for HBO. The story deals with the relationship between filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones) and actress Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller) with special focus on their first effort together "The Birds". The film screens on HBO on October 20th.
The second season premiere of Showtime's highly acclaimed "Homeland" is not until the end of the month, but the first 20 minutes from the episode is now available online to U.S. viewers only.
